A Comparison of Bible Versions

Matt 5:44

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them That curse you, do good to them that hate you, pray for those that despitefully use you, and persecute you." (KJV)

Once again the NIV and the ASV follow the Douay and gives Jesus a human father!

Luke 4:8

"And Jesus answered and said unto him, get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (KJV)

"And Jesus answering him said to him, ************************ It is written, Thou shalt adore the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (DOUAY)

1 Cor 15:47

Again these other three versions omit the Lord and thereby preferred by the Arian view that Jesus is a created being.

Eph 3:9

"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginnning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ." (KJV)

"And to enlighten all men that they may see what is the dispensation of the mystery, which has been hidden from eternity in God, who created all things *************." (DOUAY)

"And to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God who created all things *****************. (NIV)

"and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things; ***************" (ASV)

Again by Jesus Christ is omitted by the Douay, ASV and NIV. Leaving the identity of the creator uncertain!

Acts 13:42

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. (KJV)

As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath.(NIV)

And as ********** they went out, ****************** they besought that these words might be spoken to them the next sabbath. (ASV)

1 Cor 5:7

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: (KJV) 

Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast-- as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed **************. (NIV)
